undoLogic inc. was engaged by Nova Mobile Systems to design and develop the initial MVP (Minimum Viable Product) for a custom GPS monitoring platform capable of tracking company vehicles and assets in real time.
The platform was designed to process and visualize large volumes of incoming telematics data while providing operational insights such as live location tracking, ignition status, speeding alerts, idling notifications, harsh braking and acceleration detection, power loss alerts, and excessive G-force monitoring to support fleet oversight and driver behavior analysis.
The project required the development of a fully custom backend infrastructure capable of receiving raw GPS data transmitted in HEX format through UDP packets. At the time, no off-the-shelf platform was available that could reliably support the specialized data structure and scalability requirements of the project.
In addition to receiving and decoding the incoming data stream, the MVP needed to:
Process large amounts of live telemetry data efficiently
Support scalable server architecture for future growth
Visualize live vehicle information through a Google Maps interface
Handle CPU-intensive post-processing tasks without impacting performance
Establish a technical foundation suitable for future AWS migration and expansion
undoLogic inc. developed the initial MVP using the CakePHP Framework alongside the internal SetupCase Framework to accelerate development and provide long-term flexibility.
The MVP included:
Custom UDP listeners deployed across multiple servers to support data sharding and load distribution
Real-time parsing and processing of incoming HEX-based GPS packets
Database architecture optimized for high-frequency telemetry updates
Google Maps integration for live vehicle visualization and tracking
Intelligent post-processing systems for CPU-intensive operations
Flexible infrastructure enabling rapid feature prototyping and future scalability planning
Following the successful MVP and proof-of-concept launch, undoLogic collaborated with Nova Mobile Systems’ internal team to support knowledge transfer, infrastructure planning, and preparation for future AWS deployment and continued internal development.
The completed platform provided Nova Mobile Systems with a fully customized fleet and asset monitoring solution capable of handling complex real-time GPS telemetry workflows that could not be supported through traditional plug-and-play software.
The solution enabled:
By leveraging the SetupCase framework and a modular development approach, undoLogic was able to rapidly deliver and evolve the platform while supporting Nova Assure through both the launch and scaling phases of the project.
