Analysis: Nova Mobile Systems provides a comprehensive solution for monitoring company vehicles and assets, offering features such as:

• Location Tracking: Latitude/Longitude updates with Ignition ON/OFF status.
• Alerts for Harsh Acceleration and Braking: Notifications triggered by aggressive driving behaviors.
• Idling Notifications: Alerts when vehicles remain stationary with the engine running.
• Speed Warnings: Notifications for speeding incidents.
• Primary Power Loss Display: Alerts for power disruptions.
• Excessive G-Force Detection: Analysis of driving habits based on G-force readings.

Nova Assure required a custom-developed server to handle GPS location data in raw HEX format sent via UDP packets. As no plug-and-play option was available, a bespoke technology solution was necessary to receive, process, and visualize this data on a Google Maps layer.

Implementation: undoLogic developed a custom solution using the CakePHP framework, which involved the following steps:

1. Listener Setup: Implemented a listener on multiple servers to manage data sharding.
2. Data Parsing and Storage: Parsed incoming UDP packets and stored the information in our database.
3. Post-Processing Systems: Developed systems to handle data scaling and incorporated post-processing for CPU-intensive tasks.
4. Soft Launch and Support: Successfully soft-launched the proof-of-concept software and assisted Nova Assure's staff in migrating the system to AWS to meet higher scaling requirements.

Our SetupCase framework was used that extends the CakePHP framework for its rapid development capabilities, allowing us to quickly add new features and adapt to evolving needs until the system was ready to be migrated to the internal team at Nova.
